Anti-Aging Treatment
One of the best ways to prevent premature aging is to keep the skin soft and supple by moisturizing daily. Shea Butter keeps the skin ultra moisturized to prevent premature aging of the skin. The high amounts of vitamin A in Certified Unrefined Organic Shea Butter also help to promote epidermis cell development and fibroblast activity. Vitamin E is also abundant in this plant butter serving as an anti-free radical agent thereby preventing wrinkles and sagging.
Exfoliation
Exfoliating allows products to penetrate better. That's because exfoliating removes the surface layer of dead cells that can limit how much of your moisturizer gets through.
For a smooth, all-natural exfoliating scrub grab the following:
1. Organic fine ground sugar
2. Your favorite all-natural facial cleanser
3. Purely Shea Organic Unrefined Shea Butter
While washing your face with your favorite cleanser, once or twice a week add a handful of the organic sugar and a little organic shea butter and lightly massage into skin and rinse. You will instantly notice soft glowing skin! You will also notice that your moisturizers are much better absorbed into the skin.
Make-up Primer
So many people have traded in their toxic, chemical-laden cosmetics for all-natural beautiful mineral make-up.
However, those of us with really dry skin have noticed that mineral make-up left us looking overly dry and cakey. Our Solution? Purely Shea shea butter to the rescue! Apply shea butter sparingly underneath foundation and let it sink for a few minutes to avoid streaking. The result? Glowy and radiant mineral make-up without the ashy dryness.
Tweezing/Shaving
I had my eyebrows waxed and tweezed this weekend. Although they look amazing, it hurt a lot and left a red rash with raised bumps! So it was Shea Butter to the rescue. Within minutes Purely Shea soothed the area and an hour later all the redness and bumps disappeared.Purely Shea is also great for shaving. In fact, premium quality organic unrefined shea butter reduces the shearing force between the skin and the blade. This allows for a less traumatic, smoother, and closer shave. Additionally, since the shea butter continues to nourish and moisturize the shaved area, this eliminates the need for after-shave lotions and creams.Unrefined Certified Organic Shea Butter is a superior shaving cream for the following reasons:

Shea Butter as a Cleansing Oil
Cosmetic Remover
When removing make-up from your skin, it is important that you keep in mind that oil dissolves oil. This means that an oil such as Shea Butter is great for removing oil based cosmetics. In fact, oil alone will not cause blemishes which are a result of several different factors including hormones, bacteria, dead skin cells and the buildup these on your skin.
Shea Butter can be used as a cleansing oil for easy removal of all cream and grease makeup. After makeup has been removed, the skin feels fresh and relaxed as it deeply cleans while preserving the skin's necessary protective lipid layer.
First begin by evenly massaging the butter into makeup areas of the skin. This causes the makeup to gently dissolve. Next follow the steps below for amazing make-up removal:
-Use a soft terry cloth (organic cotton would be great!) and rinse it in hot steamy water. Place it over your face after wringing it out.
-Gently wipe your face an neck with the steamy wash cloth in soft upward circular motions
- Repeat once or twice if necessary
- Use luke-warm water if you have dry skin (cold water if you have oily skin) and splash on your skin
- Pat dry with a soft terry towel
Now enjoy your clean, healthy glowing skin which is soft and supple and NEVER taut or tight from harsh make-up removers.
The following step involves moisturizing and we will talk about this next time.

Head to Toe Shea Butter Treatments - Part 1
Pre-Shampoo Treatment
Hot Oil Treatment
Conditioner
Hairdressing Pomade
Pre-Shampoo Treatment
A pre-shampoo treatment is recommended if you have very parched and damaged hair. It is also great for anyone with chemically treated hair, colored hair, and for those who use heat appliances on their hair. It provides deep moisturization and strengthens the hair cuticle.
1. Begin by melting Shea Butter in a stainless steal or glass saucepan on the lowest heat setting on your stove top. (Using higher temperatures and/or a microwave will denature it and decrease its healing effects.)
2. Massage through hair an cover with plastic cap.
3. Allow it to remain in hair for at least 30 minutes. You may leave it overnight as well.
4. Follow-up with shampoo.
Hot Oil Treatment
Hot oil treatments are often used to restore the natural orders in the hair which are often stripped after shampooing. It also helps to restore moisture to the scalp. Use the same directions as above to use Shea Butter as a hot oil treatment after shampooing the hair.
1. Begin by melting Shea Butter in a stainless steal or glass saucepan on the lowest heat setting on your stove top. (Using higher temperatures and/or a microwave will denature it and decrease its healing effects.)
2. Massage through wet hair after shampooing and cover with plastic cap.
3. Allow it to remain in hair for at least 30 minutes
4. Rinse
Deep Conditioner
While you may not be candidate for the first 2 treatments listed above, deep conditioning should be apart of everyone’s routine! Whether you have chemically-treated, colored hair with massive heat appliance use, been swimming in chlorine water, or just enduring the dry summer sun or the cold windy winter, deep conditioning is a must. Depending on your own situation, this should be done once a week to once a month for healthy beautiful hair.
1. Massage Shea Butter through wet hair after shampooing (you may melt it if you prefer as stated above.)
2. Comb through.
3. Cover with a plastic cap and sit under a dryer or heat cap for 30-60 minutes.
4. Rinse.
Hairdressing Pomade
Finally, Shea Butter can be used daily as a hairdressing cream or pomade. It keeps hair shiny, soft and helps it to stay in place. Simply melt by rubbing a small amount in the palms of your hands and apply to hair as needed.
